FAQs
What is your session rate?
My standard fee is $180/50 minute session, for both couples and individual therapy. I also offer a sliding scale option for those who qualify.
How do I know if I qualify for your sliding scale option?
You qualify based on an honor system and discussion with me. If you are in need of this option, please let me know before our first session and we will discuss on the phone.
Do you accept insurance?
I have chosen to only accept out-of-network insurance benefits. This means that you pay your full session fee out of pocket at the time of the appointment. Once a month, I will send you a “Superbill” (an itemized receipt for your insurance company) that you will then send to your insurance company. Depending on your plan, your insurance company will reimburse your session cost up to 100%.
I also accept HSA and FSA cards as a way to pay for your sessions.
How long should I plan to commit to therapy?
There is no definitive answer to how long you’ll need to commit to therapy. My experience is that those who are able to commit to weekly sessions experience dramatic improvements in 12-16 sessions. Research shows that your improvement is determined by goodness-of-fit with your therapist, your commitment to the process, and your therapist’s expertise.
Can you tell me about your expertise?
Most importantly, the qualities of empathy, unconditional acceptance, compassion, and active listening come naturally to me and fulfill me. It’s a pleasure and not a strain to provide you with the safest, most healing therapy environment.
Further, I received my master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Northwestern University, which is considered the top marriage and family therapy program. I graduated with academic distinction, making me one of the most adept graduates of an already distinguished group. Since then, I’ve continued to attend training workshops regularly and I stay on top of the most effective treatment recommendations.
